This must be the big humpday of the year. I don’t care if it’s not a Wednesday. This is the greatest hump that occurs in the whole year.
I’m talking about the winter solstice. We have left the dark darkness behind us and now we’re getting a little more light for every day we wake up. I love it!
With this warm winter we have, there might be a short winter and early Spring. All though it might also mean a warm summer and that I can do without. I like our cold Swedish summers.
But I’m jumping ahead here. Lets deal with whats left of the winter first.
The light will come back, that’s was this day is all about for me 🙂

Thank you. I did a pastel paintings serie where I used one colorscale at the time. I did a green, red and blue painting too. That was fun.

No. But there’s a risk of winter in January or February here. It can turn really cold then some years, but I hope for an early Spring.

It sure hasn’t seemed like winter here either, and for that I’m grateful. But even though its been unseasonably warm, I still don’t like the early sun setting. The solstice is welcome, with each day getting a little lighter.

Excellent post. Sure it could still get brutally cold in the first few months of 2016 but at least it will be getting lighter.
