Matilda Day in Sweden March 14

Do you have names for every day in your country? In Sweden we have a couple of names for every day. Today it’s Matilda day. That reminded me of an old song I heard often as a kid.

I know another Matilda song too, Waltzing Matilda, the inofficial national hymn of Australia.

Then I know the Matilda movie from the Roald Dahl novel.

Do you know any other Matilda songs or anything else with Matilda attached?

Anna

A little bit winter left here in Sweden 🙂

    1. Yes that white stuff is almost gone now. I hope it stays that way. Rain come down this evening instead of snow, so maybe we can hope for Spring soon 🙂

            1. Today we reached 10 degree C! It’s Spring in the air I say. But they talk about snow in a few days again, so this time it’s just a short visit from Spring.

            2. I really hope you get some Spring temps. That’s just too cold. I know that kind of cold from December and January, but this winter we didn’t have many days with that low temps. Brrrrr!

  1. We don’t have name days in the US… but I used to live in Sweden and enjoy the name day tradition. I still have my planner from 2001 from when the name says changed so the few months of 2000 don’t match with the rest of the planner lol
