Ville och Valle hade ju lärt av Viktor hur man löser sådana problem, som i hans värld inte ens var ett problem utan ett nöje och tidsfördriv. För varje klagomål som inkom från invånarna löd svaret – Vi skjuter dem! Djuren alltså (förf.anm).

Problemlösningen kan ju låta enkel och korrekt, men för att skjuta djur behövdes tillstånd, det visste till och med Ville och Valle. Nu började Ville och Valle stöta på verkliga problem. Deras edsvurna vänner på avdelningen naturskydd satte sig plötsligt emot deras planer och sade att Ville och Valle inte fick skjuta djur hur som helst eller när som helst. Det spelade ingen roll hur obekväma de upplevde djuren som flyttat in till den lilla staden.

Ville och Valle gillade inte mothugg, som ni vet. Särskilt inte av den karaktären de inte kunde göra något åt. Av Viktor hade de lärt sig att anlägga martyrskapet som försvarsteknik. De fick till och med invånarna med sig, där de allra flesta verkade mycket irriterade på en del djurarter som flyttat in vid bästa strandläge. Att de djuren innebar mat för Ville och Valles favoritdjur, som de gärna skröt med i reklamen för staden brydde sig få om. Ville och Valle lyckades få många ur invånarskaran med sig på sin snyftvals, men inte ens det hjälpte dem ur knipan med de oönskade djuren.

Däremot hade de nu funnit en universell syndabock för allt som gick snett i den lilla staden. De skyllde allt på detta enskilda, småskaliga problem. Ville och Valle hade funnit en utmärkt avledningsmanöver. Nu hade folket retat upp sig på ett pytteproblem och såg inte längre att Ville och Valle tänkte skapa ett gigantiskt framtidsproblem, som kanske aldrig skulle gå att lösa. De kunde fortsätta sina vägbyggnadsplaner tämligen ostört och Viktor smidde vidare på sina storslagna planer för sin i stort sett värdelösa mark, som han äntligen kunde börja förvandla till reda och stora pengar.

Part 14

Dunno and Yanno had learned from Victor how to solve such problems, which in Victor´s world was not even a problem but a pleasure and pastime. For each complaint received from residents, the answer was – We shoot them! He ment the animals (authors note).

The problem solving may sound simple and correct, but for shooting animals, Dunno and Yanno needed permission. Now, Dunno and Yanno began to encounter real problems. The Nature Conservation Department suddenly opposed their plans and said that Dunno and Yanno were not allowed to shoot animals. It did not matter how uncomfortable they experienced the animals that moved into the small town.

As you know, Dunno and Yanno did not like that answer. Especially when they could not do anything about it. They had learned from Victor to establish the martyrdom as defense mechanism. They even got residents on their side, who seemed to be very annoyed by some birds that moved in at the best beach. The hatred birds were food for Dunno and Yanno´s favourite bird the sea eagle, which they gladly promoted in the city’s advertising. They did not care about that. Dunno and Yanno managed to get many of the inhabitants on their side, but it did not help them out of the difficulties with the unwanted animals.

On the other hand, they had now found a universal scapegoat for everything that went wrong in the small city. They blamed all on this single, small-scale problem. Dunno and Yanno had found an excellent diversion. Now the people had occupied themselves with a hunting problem and no longer realized that Dunno and Yanno were about to create a huge future problem, which they might never be able to solve. They could continue their roadbuilding plans without any interference, and Victor continued on his grand plans for his land, which he finally could start turning into great and big money.
