Draw while you can. France has lost so many of their beautiful old trees. The ones in my village survive but there are many places which feel so bare, despite the fact that the soil is being treated and new plane trees planted. https://daysontheclaise.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-plight-of-plane-trees.html

No I’m not a good drawer. The first ones is little oak trees and the second drawing is small pine trees.

I’m not so good in that area either. But I know the common trees and flowers around here.

That’s much more than I know.
I’m quite happy that in restaurants they have the flower decorations separately so I know what is meant to be eaten and what not 😉

Do you know what kind of trees they are Anna? When I think of Sweden I think of Linden Trees.

First drawing is little oak trees and the second one is pine trees at the sea. They don’t grow tall. Actually pine in Swedish is Tall but different pronunciation. If you skip a L you will probably get the right pronounce.

When we were walking last night we saw an Oak tree. It was huge it looked like there were four different trunks and it must have been over 50′ tall.

Oaks can be many hundred years old and when they start dying it takes hundreds of years too, they say. Fascinating trees.

Back in the days when Swedish kings had real power the oaks was kings property. The oaks were used to build warships with.

It’s a hard wood and would make a great ship.

Sweden built many oak ships back in the day. The most famous ship didn’t make it very far though. It went down in sea right after the first take off. It’s called Vasa and today it’s on land in Stockholm in a museum.
