11 Types of People to Avoid Like the Plague

I’m so glad none of you wp friends fit in to these descriptions 🙂

Dream Big, Dream Often

I have written in the past about friends and relationships and how we must carefully consider those we allow in our circle. Too often we allow people to creep into our inner-circle that have no business participating in our lives!   When this happens we end up using valuable energy dealing with these individuals.

Be aware to surround yourself with people that are generous, kind, loving and supportive.  This way the majority of your energy can go to building a positive and productive life.

I have listed 11 types of people that you should avoid like the plague:

  1. The Leverager.  There are few things that will kill you inside more than a person that is constantly reminding you of how you have let them down so as to get you to do something for them.  This person is constantly documenting other’s mistakes in order to use those…

A field guide to the most common narcissist subspecies.

This is a very good guide. Don’t feed the narcissits. Learn that and your life will be easier 🙂 Anna

Lucky Otters Haven

Narcissists are predators, but they can be turned into prey fairly easily. Here’s a quick field guide to the most common types of narcissists you may find out in the wilderness of real life. Binoculars are good to have on hand to spot them, but make sure you keep yourself camouflaged well and carry the weapon of Truth. Truth to a narc is like garlic to a vampire–they will run faster than Montezuma’s Revenge.

It’s easy to learn how to identify the subspecies of common narcissists by using this Field Guide to help you identify the most common types, their preferred habitat, and chosen source of supply (food). They can all be either male or female, but where a particular gender is more commonly seen, it will be indicated in the subspecies description.

1. Narcissus grandiosis.

Yesterday You Said Tomorrow

This is so true! But we ought to live today!

Drawing Everyday: A calendar sitting at my table... (had to do a super quick sketch due to less time) Drawing Everyday: A calendar sitting at my table… (had to do a super quick sketch due to time pressures!)

We are the beings
Of tomorrow
It’s there we live
It’s there we dream
It’s there we breathe
Because tomorrow
We’ll have that car
Or job
Or girl
Or life
Whatever we want!
Not Now!

We are the puppets
Of yesterday
It’s what defines us
It’s what gives us meaning
It’s what shapes us
Because yesterday
We could’ve had that car
Or job
Or girl
Or life
Whatever we wanted!
Not Now!

A Little a Request

I bought myself a little sailboat when I reached 40.

I think this is fair birthday wish, don’t you?
I already follow the blog, but if you don’t yet follow, why don’t you make her birthday wish come true 🙂

But I Smile Anyway...

Hi there Peeps!

Hope you are gearing up for a great weekend!

I have a little request, just wanna see if something can be done….

It’s my biggie birthday (40! Eeeeek!) soon, in a couple of weeks, and I was thinking to myself how great a present it would be to hit 1000 followers on WP by then… (I’m a couple away from 900 at the moment…)

This is where you, my lovely Peeps, come in.

Could you share/re blog this post, and see how many new followers I can get, and see whether I can hit that target?

(But only if you wanna!)

Foor those contemplating hitting that ‘Follow’ button, let me tell you a bit about me… I’m a mum, wife, daughter, teacher…. Heck I’m a woman!

My mission in life is to keep smiling, and to hopefully bring smiles to your life too.

I like to post…

Time’s Bandages by Blair Gaulton

This is the best art can do, inspire to new artwork, like poems for an example 🙂

Toutons Tubas and Other Tales

Inspired by another painting from Anna’s Art Time Heals

Time’s Bandages
Time heals;
by repealing all the woe and weal;
that have lodged inside or come:
from outside.
Making us realize;
true healing in our bodies, mind and spirit takes time.
To go from a painful frown;
to a happy smile.
We need patience with ourselves;
tender loving care is a form of medicine;
that goes a long way.
So that if all goes well;
the pain will hopefully disappear someday;
and if not lessen in some way.

Leaving by Blair Gaulton

A lovely story to a painting of mine. Thank you very much! Anna

Toutons Tubas and Other Tales

This poem has been inspired by a painting done by Anna called What Do You See. To see the painting please go to the link.

As I walked from my coastline.
I snatched as many views;
to store in my heart of my home.
Soaking in the winds’ embrace;
and the ocean’s salty kisses;
I boarded wrenched inside.
This place I love I must leave;
for unknown places and shores.
I will return
for your stories, songs and wisdom
are a part of me.
It will keep me company;
as I venture out;
to do what I must do.
As countless thousands;
have done before me too.
Hope to do well and to return soon.

4 reasons I love blogging

If I could express myself better in english I could have written this. But someone else, far better than I, write it so well in this post and I agree with every word and all 4 reasons 🙂

welcome to my little piece of quiet

Writing and maintaining a blog can be challenging. Some days inspiration strikes hard and there’s so much to write about. Other days, its hard to get motivated, or you just can’t think of the right topic. Too often I get distracted by the busyness of life and the blog gets forgotten. Its definitely a labour of love but I’ve really enjoyed the experience so far. Here are a few reasons I love blogging:

1. I’m an introvert.
I express myself best through writing and my writing is far more polished than my speaking. I can choose the perfect words to convey the exact meaning I’m trying to get across. I share more of myself online than in person. It may take years for me to share some really personal things with someone face-to-face. I’m far more comfortable writing about them on my blog. And connecting with people online isn’t as physically…

The Legend of the Astronaut Scorpion by Blair Gaulton

I am speechless and honored. What a beautiful story!

Toutons Tubas and Other Tales

A Poem inspired by Anna’s painting of the astronaut scorpion

The Legend of the Astronaut Scorpion
There was a scorpion;
who had explored all of the oceans and seas.
He had been told; he had seen all he could see.
His thirst for adventure was not to be quenched;
He heard about somewhere else;
where scorpions had never been.
So he decided to train to be an astronaut; and to find a way to get there.
After much preparation, hard work and concentration.
He got approved and hitched a ride
to the International Space Station.
He got there and was asked to do a space walk;
not for a second did he balk.
Put on the Astronaut’s space suit made to fit him and went out for a walk in space.
Now he is the talk everywhere and all of earth knows his face
A scorpion’s place is…

Time’s Holiday Revolution
Time decides;
enough! I am going away;
on a holiday.
Let them figure things out without me;
at least I can be happy.
