Salskrake – Smew

Vintern bjuder på fina fågelbesök längs iskanten ibland. Salskraken dyker upp då och då i sin vitsvarta dräkt.

Winter sometimes means exciting bird visits. Smew appears now and then where the water meets ice.

    1. Wow! Nine ones. Must have been a sight. In Swedish, they are called Röd glada. Glada is also a verb for happy 🙂

  1. A beautiful bird. the white costume makes it difficult for the sea eagle to see. We have seen two sea eagles hunting together in the last few days, so impressive. All the sea birds fly away to escape.

    1. The white tailed eagles fly over our place too, and as you say, the sea birds in the water escape when they see eagles coming above them. White tailed Eagles is very active this time of year. Nestbuilding and so on are on their agenda 🙂
