This is the pub of our dreams. Enjoy and stay as long as you like. Leave comments if you like to talk and if you don’t, just follow along as a silent reader. You are all welcome.

Let’s start the weekend now!

I begin with wishing a song from Nils Landgren funk unit. Finish what we started.

Welcome to the pub of our dreams, the World Peace pub 🙂

December 1 2017 baking evening

And some Christmas music.

Here’s a Swedish traditional Christmas song.

Every school kid knows this one from the St Lucia celebration December 13.

The end of November

Do you have any November song? This is one of the Swedish November songs by Laleh.

Tomorrow it’s the last day of November. After that it’s all about Christmas for many people. I’m not a Christmas maniac, but I do like some Christmas things.

Do you get stressed over Christmas or do you stay calm despite the Christmas madness with shopping and planning and everything else around the month of December?

I did a test drawing some years ago. What do you see? The scream or the cute little dog?

Friday night – nostalgia from the 80’s

If you haven’t noticed it yet. It’s Friday!

And in my head this old tune turned up.

Yes I grew up as a teenager in the 80’s and the show Fame was one of the few shows with music in Swedish television. Back in those days we only had two channels and no VHS recorder. So everytime the show was on I watched.

I thought it was amazing. It was rather fun watching this little cut from the serie now, but I doubt I would find it amazing if I watched the whole series today. But back then we hadn’t much to compare with.

Yes I know this is a cover, but I was too young to get that so this is my memory of the song. I smile when I hear this song. I hope The song can make you all smile too 🙂

This Friday I open the wp pub, where we all can meet in the comments field. Say what you want. Bring a song or two with you. If you cant paste the YouTube links to your songs in the comments, just name the songs and I find the link.

Happy Friday!

Despite all sorrows around me I feel very light in my heart today. That’s weird but very nice. When you believe in goodness in people I think you can feel joy no matter what. That’s amazing 🙂

Pub is open for everyone and we never close

Tremble my heart

My week so far has gone in high speed. I’m so tired when the days are over.

But, I’m so lucky anyway. I have good friends, I meet nice people both in work and freetime, I have roof over my head and I have food to eat. I have all you readers of this blog to talk with.

That means I should have more energy left to stay awake in the evenings. But today I feel melancholic and this song suits me well.

If you have some uplifting songs instead that always gives you strength and energy, please leave a youtubelink in the comments or just the name of the song and the artist.

I sometimes like the melancholy feeling, but I also like when energy and inspiration is coming back. That can happen if you find the right song for the moment.

It’s feels good to have happy feets sometimes

What songs do you match your moods with?

The tale post are out there again

Sharing is caring and this time Jim from random writings on the bathroom wall shared one of my posts about the tale of an unnecessary road.

Thanks Jim!

And if you haven’t visited or not already follow Jims blog. Stop by and say Hi to Jim and you will have a nice chat ahead 🙂

Or just read the posts about art, music, garden and everything else. There’s always something to find over at Jims worth the visit.

Do you remember how to play?

I have a favorite song that always cheers me up.

It’s about how we should remember how to play and not grow up too much.

If you watch the whole video that’s from The polar music price concert you will see Mr Stevie Wonder in the audience and our Swedish Queen ans King.

So when you hear this song you might want to grow back down again and just sing, dance and have fun 🙂

Do you have favorite cheer up songs? Leave a link in the comments. If you leave a complete link and not just a shortlink from Youtube, the vid will appear in the comments.

Children playing indians. Their names are Sun, Wind and Water. They do not care about grown up problems like Oh no, they’ve lost their paddle or Oh no the cormorants destroys the green island. They just drifting away as the day comes 🙂

Den blomstertid nu kommer – Flower time

Around this time in Sweden blooms in every corner of nature. It’s is stunning beauty everywhere.

A Swedish old hymn describe this time very well. So well that the hymn is a standard hymn in every graduation.

My favourite version of the hymn is a soul/funk/blues version from the 80’s with Lill Lindfors and Nils Landgren. They first sing it as it too often sounds at graduation day. But then they do their own version and that version rock!

If you want to understand the words in the song you can read a google translation of the hymn below the Swedish lyrics.

Den blomstertid nu kommer

Lyrics by Israel Kolmodin

Den blomstertid nu kommer
med lust och fägring stor.
Du nalkas, ljuva sommar,
då gräs och gröda gror.
Med blid och livlig värma
till allt som varit dött,
sig solens strålar närma,
och allt blir återfött.

De fagra blomsterängar
och åkerns ädla säd,
de rika örtesängar
och lundens gröna träd,
de skola oss påminna
Guds godhets rikedom,
att vi den nåd besinna
som räcker året om.

Man hörer fåglar sjunga
med mångahanda ljud,
skall icke då vår tunga
lovsäga Herren Gud?
Min själ, upphöj Guds ära,
stäm upp din glädjesång
till den som vill oss nära
och fröjda på en gång!

English translation

The flower time now comes
With pleasure and celebration great.
You’re coming, sweet summer,
Then grass and crop grows.
With gentle and lively warmth
To all that has died,
Say the sun’s rays approach,
And everything is regained.

The beautiful flower beds
And the precious grain of the fields,
The rich herb beds
And the green grove of the grove,
They will teach us to recall
The wealth of godliness,
That we grace that grace
Which lasts all year.

You hear birds singing
With multitude of sounds,
Do not our tongue then?
Loving the lord god
My soul, exalt the glory of God,
Tuning up your joy song
To the one who wants us close
And rejoiced at once!

And the Swedish flowers from nature

Liljekonvalj – Lily of the valley

Gullviva – Cowslip Primula veris

Mandelblom – Meadow saxifrage/Saxifraga granulata

Midsommarblomster – Wood cranesbill

Skogssmultron – Wild strawberries

Ah finally rain!

I’m like this today. We finally got some real rain and I think nature feels like the one in the picture too. The air is cool again after several days with 30 C in the shaddow. I hope the rain wash away the pollen. My brain is not melting anymore.

Sometimes I really like rain and outside it smells so fresh. Mr ABBA Benny Andersson and Mats Nörklit wrote a lovely Swedish song about the feeling after the rain.

I’m having a really good day today, just because of the rain and all nice people I have talked to today. A smile day 🙂

I hope you have a good day too.

Efter regnet (After the rain)

Efter regnet, Benny Andersson & Mats Nörklit, Karin Glennmark & Tommy Körberg

Here’s a Google (and Anna) translation of Swedish lyrics

Listen, now the rain has stopped falling
Look, now the air is clear and blue
It’s nice to breathe

See, the sun finally breaks
And do magic with every leaf and straw
The earth smells new
The sun warms against your skin

Everything has been rested
Everything gets new life

Yet the sea is struck by the rain
Look the sky is bright
And shine in the cove’s mirror

Here comes the breeze cool at the beginning
Do you see how the bay is now freezing?
But about a minute
Flows heat as before

The sun has woken up
The sun is here

It was just dark and cool here at home
Just now it was quiet and frozen here
Everything was closed and regulated

Now we can open the windows to the sun
Now we get in all the light
Now the rain is over
Now the cold can be wiped out

Here we can live
Here we can live

February 6 Sapmi national day

Today samis have national day.

One of them is Sofia Jannok, a sami artist and actually also a painter. Just look at the paintings in this video

Snölejoninna (snow lioness)

This is another video with Sofia Jannok

This is my land

On www.svtplay.se you can see a concert Jielemen Aavoe – Jubileumsföreställning för Sápmi if you’re in Sweden. I watched a bit and I like it. It’s beautiful. Music, clothes and the stories they tell between the songs.

Seinabo Sey

Seinabo Sey is a Swedish artist with a beautiful voice and I think her music rocks!

What do you think?

Time for love

Today I heard about a caravan going from one place to another, but I don’t think it’s a caravan I want to join.

I think it’s time for love instead

So I found this oldie on youtube and I think, no I know for a fact, that I join this caravan instead everytime 🙂

Which caravan do you join?

1600 WP Pub celebration

So, this blog has now reached over 1600 followers. That’s amazing. For me at least. The first year I had about two followers that went up to about five. That was before I understood the joy of blogging. The joy in talking to you all out there. I didn’t even know you existed. Now I can’t think of going back to silent blogging.

How to celebrate this milestone that you are all a part of?

Let’s make it a combination of a wp pub night and meet & greet.

The wp pub is open around the clock, you can drink whatever you want and never get too drunk, you can eat what you want and play what music that you want. You are all welcome no matter where you come from or who you are. This is a world peace bar.

So start talking or just hang around in the comments field. Leave a link to your blog or another blog where you have found interesting stuff. If you have some good music to play for us, leave a link in the comments.

Let’s start celebrating the 1600 follower milestone!

Here’s another bar paiting. A drawing of Hoppers famous paiting.

Dear old Stockholm Ack Värmeland du sköna

Jims Art Sunday post made me think of a Swedish song about the county Värmland and the version that Monica Zetterlund did. One of my favorites.

Some of you may recognize the song as a jazz standard Dear old Stockholm.

If you want to know what the Swedish lyrics says you can read below the Swedish text an English google translation.

Lyrics Anders Fryxell and Fredrik August Dahlgren.

Alas, Värmland, you are beautiful, you are beautiful country,
You crown among Swedish realm countries!
I, and come over in the middle of the promised land,
Varmland I still return.
Yes, where I want to live, well, where I will die.
About once away from Varmland I take me a maid,
I know that I never regret.

In Värmland’s funny to live and to live,
The country I praise so happy
There pats the hearts with honor and with faith
As solid as rock agreeing center
And each one Swedish in Swedish realm country
Who will be appearing at the river Klarälven
he finds only brothers and sisters

In Värmland – well, where I want to build and live,
with the simplest happiness förnöjder.
Its valleys and woods give me silence, peace,
and the air is fresh on its heights.
And the rapids sing its sweet song –
at that, I would fall asleep so still again
and rest in Värmländ earth.

Swedish patriotic song from the 1822nd

No 12 drawing in my goals for 2016

In a 103 drawings long serie I’m at no 12 now.
I relly enjoy this drawing journey but it will take time to reach 103 drawings, so the 2016 goal will be a 2017 goal too.

This picture is about a dancehall in a spaceship that left earth because the earth is no longer possible for humans to live on. The spaceship is drifting without a destination.

During that time the passenger fill their nights with dancing. It’s a woman from a city with special accent, but the woman and the man understand each other through music and dance. They discover the dance technique is the same even if they have different namnes for the dance.

Dance and music can really speak all languages.
