Misty window

Weather, creating fog on the window may not belong to the favorites, but the mist often create beautiful patterns on the windows. When the sun once again appears, windows can look like shimmering paintings. I tried using colored paper and light pastels to paint fog on the window. The result you see here. Väder, som… Continue reading Misty window

Julaftons fyr Trosa archipelago

Our most photographed object in Trosa archipelago. A lighthouse-place we call "Julafton" wich is X-mas eve in english. The legend tells that shipwrecked were nearby and got rescued, one Christmas eve and since then, the lighthouse is called Julafton (Christmas eve). In this painting it is winter as you can see 😉 Anna

City edge/Stadkant

City edge in pastels on colored paper. I call the painting "stadkant" in swedish, which in english means selvedge. But in swedish it can also mean city edge. This painting is not so difficult to achieve. Find a colored paper, some pastel crayons, and start drawing squares in different colors. Then, you do the… Continue reading City edge/Stadkant

Killing time/slå ihjäl tid

Killing time is not what I do these days. Instead I fill the time with lots to do with a tight deadline. Hopefully I soon get more time for read blogs and post on my own blog. Continue reading Killing time/slå ihjäl tid

Measure time/Mäta tid

To measure time. Can we actually measure time? Here I have drawn an hourglass, which will be measured. So it is possible to measure time 🙂 Att mäta tid.

Here's some pastel paintings which in I have used one color scale at the time. Bluelight I began with, then moved on to red light, yellow light and finally green light. The blue light kind of refers to sirens, the red, yellow and green light to trafficlights.

Something borrowed, part 5

Again, a picture I interpret in my own way. Another painter friends painting motive that I've borrowed. A sharp eyed person can see a link between all borrowed motives this far in the posts "something borrowed..." I let you know the answer in next post, that's the last in the theme Something borrowed. Näst sista… Continue reading Something borrowed, part 5

Something borrowed, part 4

Another painting where I borrowed the motive from a painter friend. It is really fun to interpreting other paintings in my own way. You should try it! Let me know if you do that and wanna share the result with the readers. Continue reading Something borrowed, part 4

Something borrowed, part 2

In previous post I told you about how to paint a "cover" on someone elses painting. Here's another borrowed motive from a painter friend of mine. Continue reading Something borrowed, part 2

Something borrowed, part 1

It started as a thought, that turned into a test-painting, then it escalated in several paintings. I did a "cover" on a painting a friend of mine did and discovered how fun it was to interpret other painters paintings in my own way. Not to copy them, just lend the motive and the paint it in… Continue reading Something borrowed, part 1

You wont believe it…

...but I have one more painting of the bridge I going on and on, about 😉 It is a small bridge that leads to a little island, where a few hundred people live. In the 1950s I think it was, there was no bridge. People back then, took the rowing boats to their island destination.… Continue reading You wont believe it…
